Classification of private hospitals in Northern Senatorial District of Taraba State, Nigeria

The study determined the spatial distribution and classification of private hospitals in Northern Senatorial District Taraba, Nigeria. A survey research design was adopted for study. Interview, ground truth observation handheld GPS device were tools employed data collection. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics geospatial mapping area. result shows that there are 40 across northern senatorial districts Taraba state. These distributed as follows; Karim-Lamido has seven (7), Ardo-Kola three (3), Lau Yorro Zing one (1), Jalingo twenty-three (23). nearest neighbour ratio is 0.816940 (observed mean distance divided by expected distance), with a critical value <-2.58 test significance P-value 0.0071445. pattern district random, less than 1% likelihood this random could be chance. not evenly over space. This implies State randomly distributed. 94 medical doctors 176 nurses representing 27.9% 52.2%, respectively, showing an average doctor to two per hospital (1:2). revealed (2) single-specialty tertiary care hospitals; Nobis Eye Clinic offering ophthalmological services while Balsam offers osteology services. Three (3) general secondary (Jaji Memorial Hospital, UMCN Hospital & Catholic Hospital), remaining thirty-five offer primary care/nursing homes. also specialty area; includes (Balsam Clinic), ophthalmology (Nobis Clinic) dental (Family Dental Hospital). All these located Jalingo, state capital. others category hospitals, though only few have bed capacity classified hospital. recommended should planned such way they can reach more patients terms coverage.
